What happens in the event of a fire?

When the accident occurs!

Period: May – Sep 2015

Subject: When the accident occurred

“If we had not put our IT in the cloud (which is located in OJCO’s hosting), I do not know how this would have ended. Now we could be up and running before the fire was extinguished. We are extremely grateful that we had thought of that before. All companies should do the same thing! ”, Says CEO Jonas Jung, Salinity Holding AB.

This happened

At 23.00 on a Friday evening, the customer calls cut and announces that there is a fully developed fire at the head office in Halmstad where all IT equipment is located.

The house burned down – what do we do now?

OJCO had been in contact with the customer about various hosting solutions for a long time. As the customer has not had any problems with this before, they did not really understand what to do with an external solution because they used their own server located in the workplace. But we managed to get the customer to change their minds and sold a secondary backup solution remotely a short time before.

At 23.00 on a Friday evening, the customer calls cut and announces that there is a fully developed fire at the head office in Halmstad where all IT equipment is located.
Since we have a copy of all data, we will restore the backup to new servers during the weekend. At the same time, the customer is working on getting a new temporary office where we help deliver new computers.
Monday morning before the fire is extinguished, large parts of the IT environment are up and running and employees from the branch offices can connect. An overjoyed customer didn’t lose any data and in fact no working hours, but with OJCO’s secure solutions, you were up-and-running more or less directly.

Today, in addition to secondary backup servers, we also sell replication servers. On the replication server is a copy of the customer’s servers “dormant”. This can be started up immediately when needed and the downtime will be even shorter.

Result

A happy customer could quickly reconnect and continue where they left off. Had the reality been different, with its own servers in the house burning down, the story would have ended differently.

  • The customer’s data was securely in OJCO’s custody
  • OJCO helped the customer all the way with everything from backups to new computers
  • OJCO’s level of service was crucial for the customer’s “downtime” to be greatly reduced

Summation

It is smart to place your entire IT in fireproof server halls with a Swedish supplier. Availability, service, backup, replication is extremely valuable when the accident occurs!
